Deprecated Versions and EOL Schedules
Use this page to review deprecated Secure Client module versions, end-of-life (EOL) schedules, and recommended upgrade guidance for deployments in Cisco XDR.
Deprecated versions remain listed here so that you can plan deployment updates before a version reaches EOL. After a version reaches EOL, it might no longer be available for new installer generation or endpoint installation.
The following table lists deprecated versions and the effective retirement date for each version. If your deployment is using a deprecated version, update the deployment to use Latest, Recommended, or another supported version.

The Cisco Secure Client / AnyConnect rows cover the full VPN bundle at that version and are listed once per version.
-
Regions are deployment regions: NAM is North America, EU is Europe, and APJC is Asia Pacific, Japan, and China.
-
The options available in version drop-down lists are subject to change and do not have to be consistent across modules.
To review deployments that might use a deprecated version:
-
Choose Client Management > Deployments in the navigation menu.
-
Click the deployment name to open the Deployment Management page.
-
Review the module versions selected for the deployment.
-
If a module version appears as N/A, click the
(Ellipsis) icon to open the Options menu, then choose Edit. -
Select a supported version for the module, then click Save.
For more information about editing deployments, see the Deployment Management help topic.
The behavior for an EOL version depends on whether the deployment uses a channeled version or a specific release version.
|
Version Type |
What Changes |
Recommended Action |
|---|---|---|
|
Channeled version |
A channeled version, such as Latest or Recommended, uses the highest available version in that channel. If the highest version is removed, the channel uses the next highest available version. |
Review the deployment to confirm that the channel still meets your deployment requirements. |
|
Specific release version |
If a selected specific release version reaches EOL and is removed, the module version might appear as N/A in the deployment. New installer generation or endpoint installation might fail for the removed version. |
Edit the deployment and manually update the module to a supported version. |
|
Endpoint with removed version already installed |
Endpoints that already have the removed version installed can remain on that version until the deployment is updated or the endpoint is moved to another deployment. |
Update the deployment to a supported version so that future check-ins can apply the updated deployment requirements. |
Note: If a deployment uses a version that is no longer available, manually select a supported version before generating new installers.
